Shred Hate at the X Games

Nineyards was honored to help our client with their collaboration for the Shred Hate anti-bullying campaign mural displayed at the ESPN X Games.
Our team welded 100+ feet of aluminum into an 8.5'x11.5'x20" sign that was transported to the X Games in Minnesota.

Shred Hate at the X Games

This blank 3D aluminum canvas was decorated on site by Philadelphia-based graffiti artist Jimmy M. (aka Glossblack).
Jimmy did an awesome job spray painting a colorful and meaningful interpretation of the Shred Hate message!

Shred Hate at the X Games

Shred Hate is a bullying prevention program created by ESPN that encourages school age kids to choose a culture of kindness. The program is supported by Major League Baseball and the X Games.
The Nineyards crew also encourages everyone to strive for compassion.

”Progressive” Moto Monument

From our artists' renderings through onsite assembly, creating the Progressive Motorcycle
Insurance monument was an exciting challenge! We were commissioned to build this
sculpture using our fabricated materials and motorcycle parts.

”Progressive” Moto Monument

The final product had to be eye-catching to draw visitors toward the Progressive Moto
footprint from indoors or outdoors. We combined special lighting features, new and used
motorcycle parts, and metal truss.

”Progressive” Moto Monument

Then we thought, "Why not add a CO2 cannon?" That would be hard to miss!

”Progressive” Moto Monument

Obstacles we tackled for this build included client requirements for easy breakdown and
travel, assemble with a standard warehouse forklift, and 50 state structural compliance.
Thankfully, the Nineyards team has plenty of event experience.

”Progressive” Moto Monument

We made a tiered truss system that's set-up/breakdown friendly and liked by engineers for
ease to analyze for varying municipalities structural requirements compliance. This
particular piece was designed to comply with Los Angeles seismic requirements and Miami
wind loads.

Ford STEAM Experience

Fun & Games at the Ford STEAM Experience

We had a blast creating children's activities for a Ford STEAM event experience! Games we built included:

A Wood Maze

Ford STEAM Experience

Custom Giant Jenga

Ford STEAM Experience

And the highlight, from CAD modeling to metal fabrication, was getting to design a custom metal crash test and car.

Ford STEAM Experience

The Kids built egg safety restraint systems into the car, which were put to the test each time the car slammed into the track's end wall.

Ford STEAM Experience

Scrambling a few eggs brought to life important STEAM concepts for these kiddos! The young event participants had major fun learning which methods did (and did not) protect their precious cargo.

We hope our creations will help inspire many other future designers.

"Feel the Boost" with our Adidas Stamp Project

We were tasked with creating a custom Adidas stamp as one element of a larger event display.

Adidas Stamp Project

We had the added challenge of a major time crunch, but we were up for it. After all, our team is known for one-of-a-kind solutions. Our mission: to match and modify a custom Adidas stamp design for use on a rubber ball.

Adidas Stamp Project

Where to begin? We got to work testing ideas, powered through the design process, and crushed it in manufacturing - with a modified can crusher! (Who doesn't find satisfaction in crushing things, right?!)
